SMALL DOGS, BIG CROWD: Vergas' Festival of Wieners delivers again

The 2026 Festival of Weiners was held in Vergas during Looney Days Saturday, Aug. 1. Crowds filled the stands at the Vergas baseball field to watch the short-legged pups race down the track with varying degrees of success. Between the easily distracted weiner dogs and the inevitable double-entendre-laced calls from event organizer and announcer Digger Anderson, it’s safe to say: a great time was had by all.
